Some of our Reviews-- Recent Submissions First

Occasionally we get a review from a family that hasn't stayed here yet!

Scott - One final piece of feedback.  We have used the [Vacation Rental] site for beach and Orlando rentals countless times, and we have never had your quality of information or level of detail.  You guys clearly have the recipe correct.  If we are ever up that way in the future, we'll check your stuff out first.

Rik and his guests stayed at our premier Heart of Uptown location #21 for a long weekend in November.  He left this review at a website that verifies travelers--

Nice house, nice location, nice city! Worth the money!

We replied:

Thanks to you and your group for staying with us Rik!

Stevie and her work group took our large space #13 while they were in town for a short week in October for a Barista Competition!  She submitted this review to a website that verifies traveler identity.

Great stay, the house had more than everything we needed.

Reply:

Thanks Stevie! We used to live in that space, so it does have a little extra, like the jetted tub. Hope we can help you out again sometime! S&J

Suzanna left this review at a website that verifies all travelers.  She stayed in space #2 for the month of October.

Fabulous hosts and very responsive to questions and concerns. The apartment has a roomy kitchen with lots of dishes. The water pressure was fine in the bathroom. The location is very close to the #10 bus, which is high frequency. Altogether a wonderful stay and would do it all again!

Reply:

Thanks for staying with us, Suzanna! You only needed the #10 bus, but there are actually five bus routes within two blocks of this building! Thanks for staying, hope we can help you in the future! S&J

Junfeng stayed with us for three months in August, September and October.  He sent this review directly to us.  Our comments in [brackets] for security or clarity.

I stayed in 3 units of SJSS [Scott and Jenna Short Stay] [.... #6], Columbia
Heights; [.... #8], Minneapolis; [.... #1], Minnepolis during the past three months of my visit of University of Minnesota Twin Cities. All of these apartments are clean,
comfortable and well-equipped (TV, Wifi, cooking tools, etc) for a short
stay. I highly recommend those places to short-term university visitors
who like to do some light cooking and don’t plan to spend a lot of
time in the room. The first location (4032 Van Buren Street NE) is
conveniently located near to a supermarket and a major bus station to
the university and the downtown. However, going to the university is not
convenient during weekends due to a limited bus service. The second and
third locations are about 2 miles from the university and 1 mile from a
Target store and a Rainbow Supermarket store. Both are within quite
enjoyable distances by foot/bike if it is not raining or snowing. The
only time I found annoying was the time when there was a family with
kids stayed in the apartment above mine. The kids ran in the room all
the time which made it very difficult for me to concentrate on what I
was doing in the apartment. Other than that, I am very satisfied with my
extended stay. The owners (Scott and Jena) are very nice and helpful
people to deal with which is also a big plus.

We replied:

Thanks for staying with us!  We apologize for the family in that unit, but we are not allowed to discriminate against families, and it was a multi-bedroom space.  We have solved that problem by renting it long term to a group of adults associated with the University! :-)  Hope we can host you again!

Scott and a group of Baristas in town for a competition stayed in space #7A for a long weekend in October. This review was submitted to a website that verifies all reviews.

Great place for a large group! Lot's of sleeping room, decent amount of kitchen things for cooking/eating, thanks!

Response: We enjoyed hosting your group, hope we can see you again in the future! S&J

Graeme and friends stayed for a week in October at space #11.  This review was left on a website that verifies all travelers.

We hsd a great stay in a very comfortable and well equipped spacious apartment. On arrival the apartment was very clean and Scott showed us round giving us usefull advice. There is easy on road parking right outside and the location is great for visiting all of the attractions in Minneapolis. Scott also sent us three emails which gave very usefull and detailed information on all aspects of the local area such as dining, shopping, sightseeing etc. the Target gift certificate is a great touch and we were given it promptly to allow us to use it during our stay. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.

Reply:

Thanks for staying with us!  Glad you could take advantage of our special offer.  Hope we can host you again in the future.  We do want to mention that we have off-street parking available at all our spaces, for when the snow falls in our lovely Minnesota winter!

Shannon stayed at #11 for a quick trip in October.  She submitted this review to a website that verifies all travelers.

Scott and Jenna are excellent hosts. Highly recommend their properties.

Reply:

Thanks Shannon! Hope we can help you again! S&J

Gale stayed with a large group.  She wrote:

We rented #13 for three nights Sept/2013 for a shopping/football weekend.  The accommodations were great and exceeded our expectations.  We were a large group of 14 and it was very comfortable for everyone.  We were surprised at the amount of privacy the home provided for such a large group.- It was great to all be able to stay together and have some time visiting over breakfast and late night drinks.  The location was perfect - a $20.00 cab ride downtown and to the Metrodome.  Easy access to the airport and Mall of America.  I would definitely recommend a home rental for weekend trips.  It was awesome.

Carolin and five friends decided to stay in our low-cost 3BR1ba apartment #25 for a long weekend in October.  She submitted this review to a website that validates travelers.

We visited Minneapolis with a group of girlfriends and enjoyed our stay a lot. pros: uncomplicated and prompt communication with the hosts location is very convenient, short commute to downtown Minneapolis by car and even by bus. plenty of parking in front of the house large house with a lot of space cons: the house itself seemed a bit run down with only one bathroom - showering in the morning with 6 girls can be complicated and time-consuming, plus the shower had very low water pressure.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us! :-) We recently refurbished the building, and are constantly making changes. Thanks for the advice on the shower, and the other feedback. We actually purchased a new shower head that gives you that more powerful-feeling spray, but did neglect to get it on before your visit, our apologies... We wish you had called, emailed or texted about your challenge(s), we would have hopped over to use the wrench on the shower. Anyway, thanks again for the advice. Hope we can help you out again sometime! S&J

Mike stayed in #7B for a few nights in October.

Scott and Jenna were great hosts. Scott met me there and since I arrived at night he was kind enough to leave his car with the hazard lights on outside so I could find it easily. He showed me around the house and told me about some of the local places I could check out. The house was well stocked with shampoo, soap and towels. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great experience, thanks!

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Mike! We try to greet guests in person, we know what it is like going to a place that is not lit up like, well, a hotel! So 90+% of the time we greet in person, and if not, leave the TV and lights on with the lockbox in a convenient place (and we try to remember to put a flashlight right there, too, in case the guests cell phone is out of battery!). Oh well, enough rambling, thanks again!

Chee and several friends from Asia stayed in first, our #11 space, and then #21.  He explains why in a review sent to a website that verifies all travelers.

Location is okay, public transport is easily accessible. It has a nice for us to stay. The first night was ruined by the toilet issue, however, Scott responded quickly and offer another for us stay which is very comfortable. I recommend this place as Scott provides good hospitality and a lot of advise and suggestions. In case of problems, he is very responsive and helpful. Would love to be back.

Our response:

Hello Chee! Thanks for staying with us, hope your long flights home went well! We are sorry that the bathtub did not drain for you, and are glad that we had another space that was available right away... (One benefit because we do have multiple places.)  We still can't believe we got you to the new place by taxi and had you set up in an hour! We hope you stay with us again... there's lots more to see! Take care. S&J

Matthew and friends stayed in #11 four nights in the first part of October.  He submitted this review to a website that verifies all travelers.

Not far from much, but you will need a car if you stay here. Both beds have Sleep Number, which can be a source of entertainment in itself. It is comfy without being extravagant.

Response:

Thanks for staying, we enjoyed hosting you! Glad you liked the sleep number beds... we love ours, so had to provide them for guests! We understand your travels required a car, but want to mention for the record that this location has five bus lines within two blocks, and is two blocks walking distance to some convenience stores, coffee shops and restaurants, and only six blocks from Dinkytown Minneapolis! (Search engine it for details on the scores of shops and restaurants in this vibrant University of Minnesota community.) Again, thanks for staying, hope we can help you out again in this or one of 20+ other places!

Scott and Family stayed in #21 for four nights in late September.  They emailed us directly after their stay (twice):

Great trip. Thanks for everything. I hope we'll be back.

and

Oh and one criticism on the place, really the only one; the Internet connection was very spotty. It fades in and out and sometimes isn't there at all. I think it's due to the router being in the other unit. You might connect a second router in this unit to the first router so the signal is better without paying for a second connection.
Great home away from home. Thanks for everything.
We responded: Thanks for the mention on the Internet... But actually, the router was in your unit.  Wish you had texted or whatever while you were there, we could have mentioned usually flipping the power on and off helps... but there is a limit to that, because we are dealing with Comcast!  Hope you had a safe and pleasant trip home!  Hope to see you again!

Bowen and group stayed in #22, both parts (#15 and #21) of the duplex Uptown Mansion.  This was in late August / early September.  The review was left at a website that managed the transaction.

We got together with a bunch of friends for a wedding and stayed here. It was great. Cheaper than hotel rooms, closer to the fun stuff in Uptown. Highly recommended. Scott and Jenna are very responsive.

Jess and four friends stayed in #15 for one night in October.  She submitted this review to a website that validates all travelers and reviews.

Scott and Jenna's place is clean and comfortable, has everything you need for a short stay. We arrived really late at night so we missed meeting them in person, but we enjoyed our stay. Thanks again.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us! We love to greet people in person, but sometimes when it is a looooong day we can't, sorry! Hope we can host you again! S&J

Additional Note in response to our response:

....We really liked the place we stayed. It's sweet!....

Dave (Family of Six) stayed in one of our larger 3BR Apartments, #17 for almost a month in September.  They emailed directly:

We thank you. Your business is a lifesaver for folks who need a home during relocation.
Best to you and Jenna,

Dave and Dawn and all the kids

Kane and seven friends stayed at #15 Heart of Uptown Treehouse for four nights in August.  He emailed us directly--

Hi Scott and Jenna,

Thank you again for the great rental in Minneapolis in August. We had a great time and really enjoyed the property!

Tanya and her group stayed at #7B for a long weekend in September.  She sent this note straight to us.

Thanks for everything! We enjoyed the property!

Brett and Bowen stayed in #22 (both #15 and #21 combined) in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis over Labor Day weekend.  They sent us an email at departure.

Hi Scott and Jenna - we are headed back to WI (everyone else will be out of the house by 10)... Thanks!  We had a great few days at the house.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us!  Hope we see you again in the future.

Daniel shepherded a church group of teenagers at our space #11 in August.  He sent a note directly to us after staying there.

Thank you for hosting our group we had a wonderful time.

We responded:

You're welcome, Daniel.  We appreciate you staying and taking good care of the place.  Hope you have gotten some rest since you got home! :-)

Nash and his guests stayed at #3 (#11 + #10) near the University for a week starting August 4th.  They sent this note straight to us.
Hello Scott and Jenna,
Thanks for the receipt.
The house worked out great for us! We all traveled downtown the the convention center every day and the nearby NiceRide bike rental station and the buses made it very easy to get down there.  I don't have any maintenance issues to report.

Thanks,

Jenine and Family stayed at #1 for a week starting August 11th.  This review was submitted directly to a website that verifies travelers.

We needed lodging for our daughter for a class at the the U of M. We coordinated that with a week of exploring the Twin Cities. We were looking for a spot that would be easy for us to get her to class and to maneuver around the Twin Cities for some relaxing site seeing. It served us really well. The neighborhood was quiet and we had room to park 2 family cars in back. We enjoyed having a car but I think public transportation could have served our needs.

Recommended for: Sightseeing

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Jenine!  In addition to the parking in back, there is always parking on the street or behind our other building on the block...  and we are fortunate that all our 20+ spaces in the Minneapolis area have plenty of parking, and all are also on public transportation.

Madi and Lisa stayed in the Hobbit Haven, #9, for ten days in August.  They sent this comment directly to us:

Things were great....  Thanks for the tips as we hit many places to eat that u sent me (good Thai food)....  Thanks again

Michelle and Family stayed in Space #13 (combination space which includes #5, #6, #12 and #14) for a long weekend in July.

I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I hope you found everything in the house in good order.
We did enjoy out stay. The three section bathroom downstairs was fabulous! Really does help us all get ready.
In terms of maintenance- only thing folks said they observed was that downstairs shower drains slowly. Not bad, but something you may want to look into....

Response:

....Thanks for the feedback and info!  Thanks for letting us know about the drain...  We had a family before you that spent a lot of time picking up sand at the Lake Calhoun beaches, apparently!  Gotta admit we are proud of our bathroom innovation!  Thanks for staying with us!

Pete D and family stayed in #12 for six nights starting July 14th.

Convenient and preferable to a week's stay in a hotel.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us Pete!

Nicholas N and his party of eight stayed at #15 in the Heart of Uptown over the July 4th holiday.  This review was submitted to a website that verifies all reviews.

Nice place in a great location in Minneapolis. Easy walking distance to many bars and restaurants and Scott and Jenna were good hosts, allowing us a late check-out when we requested. I would recommend this place to others.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Nicholas!  Hope we can host you and your group again at one of our 20+ places in Uptown or elsewhere in the Minneapolis area.  :-)  S&J

Leila and friends stayed at our #11 property near the University, Mississippi River, Northeast Minneapolis, and Downtown for a week in early July.  She sent us this note when departing.
I will go to your website when we get home and do the review.  We are so impressed.... and this location is excellent.
There are rinsed dishes in the dishwasher.  I can't find any dishwasher detergent to can't do them.  There are some peppers and a little bit of lettuce in the fridge.  Please take them home for yourselves.
We will recommend this property to our bicycling friends.  It is great.
Response:
Thanks for staying with us, and your note!  We use the little packets of detergent, thanks for reminding us we need to do better labeling!

This business group stayed at our Uptown location (#15 and #21, together #22) starting June 9th.  The review was submitted directly to a listing website, and was verified by them.

Great place to stay (&bike!)

I was in Minneapolis with three colleagues for a scientific conference in June. Instead of getting hotel rooms, we thought it would be a good idea to rent an apartment thinking that would be more relaxed, private and quiet. This place offered all of this and more! When we arrived there was someone present to welcome us and walk us through the apartment, which was equipped with everything we could possibly need during our stay. What we especially liked was that there's a city bike station close. We rented bikes every day ($6 for 24h) to get to the conference center (10min bike ride) and to explore the city a bit. Definitely try this out when you're in the city! It's a great way to get around.

Response:

Thanks for your comments and for staying with us!  Truth in advertising-- we greet in person about 96% of the time, but sometimes emergencies or everyone arriving at once means we have to leave a lockbox.  We try to give lots of detail, like the info about the bikes, but are always available for questions.  Hope we can help you out in the future!  Scott & Jenna

Lou and his work team stayed in space #18 in June.  This review was left at a website that verifies identity.

"Great place for extended business travel."

We rented this place for our company who was in Minneapolis for 5 days at a convention downtown. Scott and Jenna made sure we were completely taken care of, as we had a lot of questions prior to arrival. They even let us ship items to the location beforehand.

The house was in a perfect location to the highway and with a car could easily drive downtown in 15 minutes. The express bus was also directly across the road when needed.

The house was plenty large for our team and allowed for us to have many brainstorming sessions in the living room and around the table. There was a large kitchen for cooking, great working appliances, and a lot of dishes. Also, lot's of privacy and quiet places to escape when needed.

The only downside for us was a few of the beds were very large and not needed for a group of business colleagues. The living room although comfortable to sleep in, was very central and not ideal for a late sleepers.

All in all, a fantastic experience!!!

I Recommend This For

"Absolutely, I would recommend this accommodation to my best friend!"

Response:

Thanks for your comments, Lou.  We enjoyed hosting you, and hope we can do so again.

Diana and family stayed in #11 (a part of #3) for a long weekend in July:

Thanks again for everything!  The house is awesome!!

Owen left a review about his June stay at #7B at a website that validates traveler reviews:

Our stay at Scott and Jenna's place was spectacular! When there was a problem with our booking, they contacted us immediately, informed us we'd need to move to a different rental, and offered to upgrade us for the same fee! We, of course, said yes, and were SO pleased! The house was wonderful! We're already planning next years Pride celebrations, and we'll definitely try to reserve the same house!!

Response:

Thanks again for staying with us, Owen.  Since we have 20+ places, if there is a challenge with one, we can usually keep people happy!  See you next year!

Owen and friends stayed in #7A for a weekend in June.  They sent this note at departure:

We're just packing up and heading out now. The house was wonderful!  We loved everything about it!  And Minneapolis is amazing!  We had no idea how great it is. We'll be back!!
Thanks for everything!

Response:

Thanks for staying with us!  Safe travels!

Wendy and Family stayed in #8 in May.  This review was posted at a website that verifies travel and travelers.

We had a great stay at Scott and Jenna's Hobbit Hole! Especially cool on those hot summer nights and we barely heard the howling thunderstorms that knocked out half of the city's power. We never lost power or sleep! Thanks

Response:

Thanks for staying with us Wendy!  We certainly were lucky with the power at all our places!   And we know just what you mean about our "Garden Level" spaces... so quiet!  We lived in one for years!  We do refer to the space with a little trendier name, the "Hobbit Haven", but it doesn't matter either way since you liked it!  Hope we can help you out again on your next trip!

Erik and Companions rented #22 (#15+#21) starting June 4th.  This comment was submitted to a website that verifies travelers.

We rented the whole house, both upstairs and downstairs for 6 of us. The host were great, and we had everything we needed, including a firepit out back, which we used almost every night. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants walking distance away. We were attending a conference at the Walker center, which was an easy 0.8 mile walk north. We were happy with the place and would stay here again if we are back in Minneapolis for the conference next year.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Erik.  Happy to hear you took advantage of what hotels don't have-- the backyard!  We hope we can help you next year! :-)

Eva and family stayed in #7B for a week starting June 2nd.  This review was left at a website that authenticates travelers.

Everything was perfect. The location, the house, the owners... Great choice.

In addition, this feedback was provided to us privately:
Jenna, Scott, Everything was perfect, thanks a lot for your quick help and for everything! :))

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Eva!

Joy and Family stayed in #23 starting May 21st. She submitted this review to a website that verifies travelers.

Scott and Jenna's rental apartment on 14th Ave SE in Minneapolis was nicely located for my week of research at the University of Minneapolis -- convenient to the bus that runs directly to the university and then downtown (same bus line that also runs to downtown St. Paul, incidentally). The apartment offered all the necessities for a comfortable week's stay for my family. We found Scott and Jenna to be very responsive and accommodating, which we really appreciated.

Response:

Thanks for staying, Joy! We have five bus lines within two blocks of our two buildings in that neighborhood -- glad they worked for you!

Rachel stayed in #16 starting May 24th.  This review was posted on a website that verifies travelers.

Scott was a very helpful and accommodating host. Very knowledgable of the area, which was very helpful. The place was nice and about a 30 min bus ride to the center of downtown, which was easy to navigate. I enjoyed my stay in Minneapolis and having Scott as my host!

Response:

Hello Rachel, thanks for the review... Sorry you never met Jenna, she's a better host than me! :-)

Carl checked in with two associates in March for a 60 night stay.  He left this review at a website that verifies travelers.   Scott and Jenna were very accomodating hosts during our two-month stay. We had some trouble with the cable and the dishwasher, but were always able to get a hold of Scott and he worked to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. Overall I was satisfied with the apartment rented and the service during our stay.

Response: Thanks for staying with us! We are sorry about challenges like that... normally a guest might see one or the other, not both! Hope we can welcome you again in the future!

Duane stayed in #7A for a long weekend in May.  His comment was left at a website that verifies travelers.

The house was really comfortable. The washer and dryer were great amenities and it was close to some great places to eat. Slept good each night!

Response:

Thanks for the compliment Duane.  We have either washer and dryer, or washer and dryer access, in all our properties.  Glad to hear you enjoyed the sleep number beds and restaurants!

Nirav and Business Associates stayed in #21 for four nights starting 5/9.  This feedback was submitted to a website that validates travelers.

Scott and Jenna were great! They helped me get my other guests into the listing and were very responsive the whole time. Would stay again!

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Nirav. Take care!

Christine was arranging a stay for a party of six friends.  She wrote us May 20th:

Thanks again. My group actually has decided to go with another option. I was out voted! I truly appreciate all the information you've sent me and your timely responses; you've been more than helpful. Even though the booking hasn't worked out for this time, we aren't strangers to the Minneapolis area and I will not hesitate to contact you again should we need accommodations. I will definitely pass along your information to friends because you have so much to offer! Thanks so much.

Response:

You are welcome!
Can you tell us what made the difference?  We are always trying to improve!
Have a good trip!

"Maggiebell" has stayed in many of our spaces, including #7A, #16, #6, and this one, #1; this year in May, and last year.  She submitted her review to a website that authenticates all traveler reviews.

Very comfortable space, with great service

I'm back and forth to Minneapolis a lot for business and I've stayed with Scott and Jenna a number of times now. I've had larger places when I've had my family with me, and smaller places when I've been by myself, and this is my favorite apartment so far as a solo traveler. It was a perfectly sized, clean space, a quick drive away from any kind of shops you'd need to stock up your kitchen (Target, Lund's if you're feeling fancy). It's also no more than 10 minutes from NE which is a neighborhood I have a lot of work in. On top of all of this, Scott and Jenna are really nice people, and have always been available to answer any questions I have, they pre-empt questions more often than not with their thorough guide of Minneapolis, and all of their local restaurant and shop recommendations.

Response:

Thanks for the review!  And for staying with us so many times!  Hope we can help you out next time!

Pearl and Friends stayed at #21 Uptown four nights in May.  She left this review on a website that authenticates travelers.

Scott stayed up til 12:30a to accomodate our late check in (Thanks Scott!). The neighborhood, Uptown, has plenty of healthy restaurants, coffee shops, and groceries stores within walking distance of the house. Recommend!

Response:

Thanks Pearl!

Marian and Spouse are international travelers who stayed in #9 the Hobbit Haven for over a week in May.  They left this review at a website that verifies travelers.

Very comfortable appartment with very good location close to downtown. Equippped with everything you need and more. Very friendly and welcoming owner. At arrival Scott waited for us until midnight and gave us a lot of useful informations about town, shops etc. Our late check was also not a problem. When visiting Minneapolis again undoubtely we would choose the same appartment. Thank you Scott and Jenna!

Response:

Thanks for staying!  Hope we can help you in the future!    (Earlier flight next time, maybe?!) (joke)

Rebecca and her "extended family!" stayed with us in both #15, and then #21, as their remodeling project was extended. This review was submitted to a website that verifies the identities of guests.

Great places to stay during a remodel of our house!

Our family of 4 humans, 1 dog, 1 cat, and 1 guinea pig was delighted to find Scott and Jenna's website. We were having a fairily major remodel of our house, including having every interior wall painted and all floors sanded and refinished. We decided we needed to vacate the premises and Scott and Jenna saved us. We spent 2 weeks in the lower unit which allowed all of us, even the pets, to be together, and 1 weeks upstairs with the humans but no pets. We had so much room-each of my teenaged boys had his own room, the kitchens were great, parking was no problem, and we loved being in Uptown for a few weeks, with all its restaurants and shops! This is a way better option than having to stay at a hotel or something for 3 weeks. Think of all the money we saved not having to eat every meal out! Plus we were not living on top of each other, we were pretty close to our house and our kids' schools--it was awesome. And it even felt a little bit like a vacation, being in Uptown! I recommend Scott and Jenna's Uptown rentals 100%, both the first floor and second floor units. It will be even better now without the snow!!!

Response:

Thanks for the feedback, Rebecca! It was a pleasure hosting your family... you had our first Guinea Pig pet! :-) We know what it's like to do remodeling! (As we recall, you had to extend your stay.) Glad we could help!

Doris and Family stayed in #22 (Which is #15 and #21 combined) for a weekend starting April 26th.  This review was submitted to a website that verifies travelers.

Great location and charming house

My family and I took a spring road trip to Minesota and when looking for a place
to stay we looked at several hotels near Mall of america. We traveled with small children, teenagers, and grandparents. Comfort and adequate skeeping space for everyone was the key. We also wanted to save money on food if possible so we decided to look for a house instead of a hotel.

We really enjoyed this house. We rented both the upstairs and downstairs apartments so we could have more space. The house was cozy, we had cable, wi-fi, board games, free tea and coffee, plenty of linens, towels and extra blankets. The house also has a great backyard for the kids to run aroud.

The neighborhood was the best part. We walked to the lake, the grocery store, a park, and a trendy restaurant. Since we were able to buy groceries we cooked breakfast before heading out to explore the city and then came back
for dinner. We saved money that way and fed the kids healthier meals.

We were definitely more comfortable at this house than we world have been a hotel. It felt like a home away from home versus having just a single hotel
room. We will definitely use this place again when we come back to Minneapolis.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us! We are glad we could supply your "home away from home". We hope we can help you out again!

Judi and Family (and dog!) stayed in space #21 for two weeks in April.  This review was submitted to a website that authenticates travelers.

What a super location!

We spent two weeks living in this very comfortable (great mattress in the master bedroom) and fabulously located duplex. Lots of space, kitchen very well equipped, easy walking to groceries and everywhere else...and for us, a lovely walk to the lake and dog parks. Since we had our dog with us, we were very happy that the furniture was not fancy but more than adequate. We covered the sofas with sheets so our dog would not leave too much hair in the house. Scott was great to work with and even arranged for us to have several snow falls in mid april. Great restaurants in the area within easy walking and very short drives, walk to the Walker art Center, also longer walk, but not difficult to Minn. Art Institute. We would definitely stay here again.

Response:

Thanks for staying with us Judi! Glad you loved the Sleep Number / Select Comfort mattress. We have those in almost all our bedrooms in our 20+ different places because we sleep on one ourselves! Hope we can host you again, happy to order up more snow!

Cassie and Family stayed in #5 for six days/five nights starting April 18th.  This review was submitted to a website that verifies the identities of travelers.

We traveled to Minnesota with another couple and Jenna and Scott's property was a great fit for us. Plenty of space for the four of us, adorable decor and wonderful sleep number beds. The property had a a small but extremely functional kitchen area. We even had dinner in one night, and cooked very easily. There is even a pannini press available (we used it!) This property could sleep way more people than the number in our party, but we really enjoyed having space to our selves as well as with the other couple so this was quite simply perfect. We were close to some adorable areas, I don't know the names but allow me to recommend My Burger- It was delicious. We were close (about 15 minutes) to the Mall of America, which was convenient. We visited Minnesota to meet our new niece and visit with family in Eden Prairie. We were about a 15 minute, easy peasy drive away. Over all I am extremely satisfied with our stay and highly recommend Scott and Jenna as hosts. Thank you !

Response: Thanks so much for your comments, Cassie!  And for letting us know about another new restaurant in the area!  :-)  Not all our places have pannini presses, we have to clarify!  However if anyone wants one, we'll make sure they have one in their kitchen!

Anna and Joe rented #15 for ten days in April.  This review came straight to us!

Just left the apartment! We've had a wonderful time, thanks for everything. It's been a home away from home and we'll definitely keep you in mind for our next visit.

Adam and Friends stayed at #7B starting April 12th.  This review was submitted to a website that authenticates travels.

Excellent property which was prepared precisely to the specifications advertised. Hosts were also extremely understanding and amenable to an earlier check-in time. There was no shortage of toiletries, dishware, cleaning supplies or anything else. Great hosts!

Response:

Thanks for staying with us, Adam.  Early check-ins are a pleasure when we can accommodate them after on-time check-outs.  Since we have 20+ places, everyone can't check in at the same time, because there are only two of us!  We try to provide a few days supply of everything you need at check-in, glad we succeeded this time!  Hope we can host you again sometime!

Elliott and Associates stayed in #1 for five nights, arriving April 9th.  This review was submitted to a website that authenticates travelers.

I was going to Minneapolis for a conference and looking for something a little homier (and cheaper) than the Hilton. This was the perfect spot - comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, and easy to get downtown by bus. Scott and Jenna were quick to reply to my various questions. I would definitely stay again.

Response:

Thanks, Elliot!  Hope we can help you out in the future.  Jenna especially appreciates the comment on the kitchen! :-)

Rebecca and Family stayed in first #21, then #15, in March and April as their remodeling project progressed.  This comment was submitted directly to us.

You guys have saved us.  We really like both apartments, especially the upstairs unit, and it has been fun to live in Uptown.  But it’s time to go home!

Thanks so much!!!  We will definitely refer you to others going through the fun of remodeling, or just looking for a place for out of town guests, etc.

Response: Glad we could be of service... as said before, we know what remodeling is like!

Sara and Friends stayed in #1 in March. This review was submitted to a website that verifies the identities of travelers.

After being given the run around by another property owner on this site in Minneapolis, we were very encouraged by the quick response and the great price. We arrived on Easter Sunday around 10pm and Scott was there to meet us. The loft was very clean, stocked with plenty of towels (which we managed to use all of... girls are bad about that!), had things that we could use like an ice chest, air mattress, laundry basket, kitchen appliances, etc. We were more than pleased with our stay. Scott was very informative and gave us a good tour of the place upon arrival. We were close to lots of things and were very thankful for free, safe parking. Our only complaint was the sleep number beds. They didn't seem to work very well and ended up being kind of uncomfortable. Though they weren't a selling point for us, we were silly and excited about finding out our sleep numbers! Unfortunately, only one bed had a screen to show the sleep number but the screen didn't work. The other bed had a controller that didn't seem to work very well at all. It would be much better to just have good, comfortable, regular ole' mattresses! We would definitely stay again- just with hopes of no sleep number beds! Or maybe we would just sleep on the lush futons! Recommended for: Age 55+,  Adventure Seekers,  Girls Getaway,  Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing

Response:

Thanks so much for staying with us!  We are glad you enjoyed the space.  We are a bit taken aback about the sleep number beds, because we have had them since we started offering this space two years ago, and have not had any complaints.  We wish that you had called while there!  We could have swapped beds, we have a standard mattress in the same building on the floor below!  We can easily swap out the pumps for a new pump, we keep some in reserve and would have been happy to do so.  Now that we know there is a problem, we will replace them.  As we say in our booking confirmations, "treat us like the front desk of the hotel".  We want to know about any maintenance issue immediately.  Hope we can help you out on your next trip, we can direct you to one of our few standard mattresses! :-)

Sonia and Amy and friends stayed at the Beach Cabin #8 in March.  They submitted this review directly to us.

"Your home was amazing, a great location, and honestly left us with some amazing memories and I thank you."

Anthony and Friends stayed in #8 our "Beach Cabin" for a week in March. This review was submitted to a website that authenticates travelers.

Scott was a legend to deal with! He was more then helpful during the search/booking stage and was more then accommodating to our needs. The house we stayed in (Mound), was basic, but suited our budget and was super comfortable. A great experience dealing with Scott.

Shelly and Friends stayed at #11 in March.  She submitted this review on a website that authenticates travelers.

The place met our needs as to what we were looking for which was a place where we could have a kitchen and couch to relax on while we enjoy discovering Minneapolis. Scott was responsive when we needed anything.

Response: Thanks for staying with us!  We appreciated you calling with your question on check out procedure.

Peggy and Family stayed at our #21 "Heart of Uptown" duplex location for a long weekend in March.  She submitted this review directly to us.

"What a wonderful weekend.  We go to the cities to see our girls and
usually have to rent a hotel room.  They live in a house they share with
a number of other girls and no room for visitors.  I love having my
girls stay with us and a hotel room gets awful cramped.  Renting this
house was so perfect.  We were able to cook, visit, watch a movie, play
games and sleep in the same place.  We absolutely loved it.  It was
close to downtown and travel was so easy.  The house had kitchen staples
to extra tooth brushes.  It was wonderful....  I will never go back to
renting a hotel room when something like this is available.  When you
figure the cost of a hotel room, eating out, and entertainment, you
would be so much more ahead financial wise to do the house rental.  Even
if you enjoy the restaurants and entertainment of the cities, the
togetherness in a home is something you can not put a cost to.  Their
home was comfortable and easy to find.  Thank you for the opportunity
and your hospitality Scott and Jen.  Thank you, Thank you!!!!!"

Response: Thanks so much for the feedback!  We enjoyed hosting you.  We look forward to helping you again!  S&J

Alex and friends stayed in space #24 for a week in March.  This review was submitted to an independent website that authenticates travelers.

"Very cool little place to stay. Scott met us there and was as helpful as can be. We already had our trip planned out pretty well but helped out with the neighborhood surroundings. Was really determined to make sure everything was perfect. Had to get us a new TV even though we didnt "have" to have one haha. Nice and clean place, and very close to the city too. "

Response: Thanks for staying with us, Alex.  Let us know when we can help you out again!

Amber stayed in space #21 in Uptown in January. This review was submitted to an independent website that authenticates travelers: This place was very centrally located in the heart of uptown, plenty of off street parking, spacious, large kitchen, everything you could need Scott and Jenna do a great job of stocking their places and literally have thought of everything all the way down to lighted vanity make up mirrors, and extra toothbrushes. Mos def recommend this spot.  Our Response: Thanks for staying with us, Amber! We try to think of everything, but can't always keep_it_all_ restocked. But as we like to say, "never a 'mini-bar' charge!" :-)

We're really excited.   Hands down, I've NEVER seen anything quite like the information you have provided.  I told Christopher that I wish you owned in other states!

Thanks,

Edward and friends stayed in space #17 in Northeast Minneapolis for a  week in August.  He submitted this review directly to a website that authenticates travelers:We came to Minneapolis to bike the city. Our location was great. We were able to easily bike downtown and all the other places we planned to visit. We were 100% satisfied w/ our place and will try to book a place w/ Scott & Jenna when we come back. They were very helpful getting us to the place, even though we were later than expected. Five stars.

Response: Thanks for staying with us! We know how travel plans can get delayed. Hope you can visit again soon!

Shannon and Friends stayed in #23 (4BR) the weekend of January 25th and submitted this review to a website that authenticates travelers:

Scott & Jenna have a great set-up! The apt. is perfect for large groups (which we were), it is well located, and they have other property across the street if you need even more accommodations. Comfortable home away from home! Highly recommend!

Amy and partner stayed in #6 three nights with their kittens, arriving Jan. 26 to attend a wedding:

Thanks for everything, it was great.

Dillon and Friends rented three nights at #15 and #21 (combined they are #22) over New Years:

Best New Years ever thanks to Scott and Jenna: Twelve of us rented units #21 and #15 to get the entire house over New Years and it was more than enough room. Very convenient to get downtown or in and out of the city and very close to everything we needed. House turned out to be set up perfect with comfortable beds and living spaces. All the utilities worked great and the tv's were awesome. I would recommend renting from Scott and Jenna to anyone, and especially renting out an entire unit since we had no problems with any neighbors or anything. Couldn't ask for better service, Scott set us up perfectly and was always a phone call away for help.

Retail Company Housed a Manager in #9 and #10 for 60 days.

Thanks Scott. We were very pleased with our experience and will definitely use your business again if the need arises.

Best,

Paulette

Hi Scott and Jenna.  We stayed at property #7 the 3br bungalow
Dec 7th-10th. I wanted to let you know that it was wonderful
accommodations and we truly appreciate you placing us there after you
learned our original location of stay would not be available.  You guys
were a huge piece of the puzzle to make our vacation wonderful!  I was
not tech savy to get this posted on the site so I thought I would send
it to you and you might be able to post it.  God Bless and have a Happy
and Blessed New Year!!  Respectfully submitted, Shane.

Especially friendly and helpful hosts. Perfectly adequate /reasonably priced 4 BR duplex in a central location for a family reunion of a middle-aged couple and grown children. Older house so doors rattle a bit, comfortable beds, clean.... Allowed us each to have our own space while being together for the holidays: able to sleep, cook, watch movies and talk, talk, talk.

Response from Scott (and Jenna!)

Thanks for staying with us Stephanie! We appreciate how tidy you left the place! Not sure what we can do about the rattling doors, but we'll work on it! :-)

David stayed in space #21 in Uptown from 12/16-12/18. This review was submitted to an independent website that authenticates travelers:

Scott was awesome and was able to set up the place within a few hours of my request. He is a fantastic host - highly recommended. The location is a lot of fun. Lot's to do. Great walking area. The house is a cool older flat, remodeled kitchen and cozy bedrooms. With all the futons + 3 bedrooms it would sleep an army. My only complaint is that the shower was cramped and needed to be remodeled. Stick on caulk is really not a long term solution and it would do wonders for the house if replaced.

Response: David: Thanks for the feedback!  You had us wondering which 3br, you have stayed with us so many times!  Yeah, that shower/tub is a tough case.  It is such an odd shape!  We are trying to decide on complete replacement versus retiling.  Thanks for the reminder to move that project up on the list!

Wonderful Stay!

I got to rent out this townhome for my last birthday. Had a few close friends over for the 2 nights that I rented! We had a great time! The beds were super comfy! There was gas stations & lots of other stores near by. Spent some time at the bar Bunny's down the road! Great food & drinks, & walking distance! Both S&J were WONDERFUL people to rent from! I had an awesome experience renting their beautiful house for the weekend, they were very kind & warming to letting me stay also! Great people! Great time! Great birthday all around! I would love to return, maybe for my next years birthday :) Thanks so much to both of your! You guys were great! -Rachel!

We travel from Madison to MN for work with a couple of guys and sometimes our family. It is great to have a real place to stay with a kitchen and lots of rooms and a living room for late night work sessions. Scott and Jenna were great at communicating. They have several places in MN and they helped us find the best place for us to fit our needs and our budget.

Our overall stay at Scott and Jenna's Airbnb was great. They were friendly and very accommodating. The rooms/beds were more than comfortable. The weather was very hot, but the a/c was adequate. Slight odor in basement but was remedied by an air freshener. We also popped one of the breakers, but Scott was quick to assist. I did not understand the pick up instructions and thought Scott would pick us up from the airport. He was more than helpful and paid the taxi to their place, which was $50. I would recommend without hesitation.

Great Stay for Great Cycling

My husband and I just finished a 3 night stay at one of Scott and Jenna's units. The place was nice, nothing fancy, but clean, well supplied and very comfortable. coot and Jenna were quick to respond to the few inquiries we made while there. We are cyclists and Minneapolis is crazy with off road trails accessible from most anywhere in the metro area…some eateries give a discount for those who have biking helmets! Hennepin Ave. and Lake Street are nice districts for ethinic dining and don't miss Jebastian Joe's Ice Cream Cafe for some fab ice cream. Our first day we took advantage of the bike sharing program Nice Ride where you can pick up a bike from dozens of locations around town, ride a bit and drop it off at another station. For the next few days we rented some nice hybrid bikes from Penn Cycles, on Lake Street, and rode the extensive system of bike trails, most of which are off-street, dedicated trails. Scott and Jenna have several properties around Minneapolis so if this one isn't available, be sure to contact them to find out about others. We will be returning to Minneapolis and will definitely at one of their places again…thanks Scott, Jenna and Sherri.

Our stay at "Hobbit Haven" exceeded our expectations. This was our first experience using [a vacation travel website] and based on the warm welcome we received from Scott and the terrific apartment we stayed in, we plan on using [a vacation travel website] much more in the future. Scott was a very friendly and helpful host and their "Hobbit Haven" was excellent . Everything was extremely clean, organized, and comfortable. I almost felt like we were staying in a hotel because of how nice and spacious their place is. If you are planning an extended stay, this would be perfect as well because of the mini kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, and kitchen supplies they have available. It was also a great location since we were visiting relatives near the University and friends who live Uptown. If we plan another trip to Minneapolis, we will definitely be contacting Scott and Jenna again.    K.P.

Review #5195546 Excellent Stay!

Scott and Jenna were incredible hosts and extremely accomodating! The house was in a great neighborhood on the lake shore with very close proximity to local paved bike trails (that will take you all the way into Minneapolis or out west) and the community. It was wonderful to sit on the dock every morning enjoying the sunrise and coffee! Scott and Jenna went out of their way to provide for my dog (a yellow lab) and I to make our stay wonderful and the fenced yard was perfect for my lab to enjoy her time outside. The house was furnished very comfortably with all the appliances & cookware anyone could ever want and a big screen TV (with DISH)! My family also came to visit with my three young nephews and nieces and they had a blast in the playroom/sunroom. There was plenty of room and beds for everyone to stay comfortably. My stay was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely recommend staying with Scott and Jenna!!!

Review Submitted to a vacation website that verifies all reviews:

Scott and Jenna were excellent hosts, and the apartment was comfortable and well-maintained. Scott was very helpful, including meeting me at the apartment when I arrived to orient me, even though it was close to midnight. I stayed with five other guests, which was no problem given the size of the space. The location was also convenient for us, with easy access to downtown Minneapolis and the U of M. I would definitely recommend staying at this apartment or anywhere else with Scott and Jenna.

Dear Scott and Jenna:

Thanks so much for the wonderful week at your property.

I know that we all enjoyed Spring Break at Lake Calhoun.

This was an amazing week that was full of fun.  The location is absolutely perfect.  The .... amenities are more than we could have imagined, but I think the best part of this property is the owners.

You both were gracious, informative and helpful in every way possible.  We will never forget out time away at this wonderful property.  ....

Thanks again for absolutely everything!

If you need a place to stay while in the twin cities, don't even think about staying in a hotel! This experience was SO much better than any hotel can offer. The place is warm, inviting, comfortable and has everything you need. Even has a kitchen if you like to cook, at least some meals. Plus, what hotel has a whirlpool tub? The hosts were so wonderful, very helpful, responsible, couldn't have asked for nicer people. Plus I have a dog, and they are definitely dog people, not just putting up with dogs because they have to. I would recommend to friends and family without hesitation!

We stayed at this studio for a week in July 2011. Our first time in the Twin Cities area. My husband, kitty & I had a great time! You can trust the description & photos of the unit - they are all accurate! You can trust the owners too - Scott & Jenna are very nice people & great hosts! Communication before, during & after our stay was timely & excellent. They are true professionals. It was a crazy hot week & we had some issues with the AC (just like most of Minneapolis, I suppose!) :-) -- Scott went out of his way, searched throughout the city & got us a new AC ASAP! The time for the dishwasher came too - a brand new dishwasher was installed the following morning, while we were gone! Talk about fast response! Both Scott & Jenna went the extra mile to provide us with all we needed during our vacation - and they were very mindful of our precious kitty, who loved the studio as well, btw! :-) We had all the amenities, and I know they are still upgrading! Beds were comfy, the unit was cozy, we had privacy & felt safe & taken care of. The garden's beautiful. There's plenty of secure parking in front of our door. One of the best things though: the Location! It couldn't be more perfect: close to everything! We had a car, but drove only short distances! All the attractions were around & easy to find! You could never be bored in Twin Cities area - so many & wonderful museums, gardens & lakes - we wish we had more time! Health food stores, markets & organic food places are within 4 miles! So, we highly recommend this studio - a cozy place (home away from home!), great customer service & a perfect location! Thank you so much, Scott & Jenna, we appreciate all you did for us! We wish you all the best! We will be back, if you'd like to accommodate us the next time we're in town! Gergana & Tosho P.S.: For vacationers, who might be interested, we recommend: the Chain of Lakes (relax & lots of activities); the Minneapolis Institute of Arts; the Bakken Museum; the Cathedral of St. Paul; the Stone Arch Bridge & St. Anthony Falls; the Minnehaha Falls; the Mall of America, with Sealife Aquarium & Amusement Park inside; the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden; the Rose Garden; the Peace Garden; the Wildflower Garden; the Como Zoo & Gardens; the Minnesota Zoo, with IMAX theatre; the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum...etc... Yep, plenty for everyone, kids or adults! And we were impressed - many of the attractions are free or have very low entrance fees!

I stayed for three nights and was extremely pleased with all aspects of my experience. I had booked it before travelling from australia and after a long flight in getting here I was most thankful to meet Scott with the keys and a lot of insider information about Minneapolis and the surrounds. I found it easy to get around due to the close proximity to the bus line, and loved having my own kitchen (particularly to store my Ben & Jerry's, which I had been harboring years-long cravings for). I knew that anything I needed was at the end of a phone, and Scott and Jenna were so nice in making themselves available for anything (and for not making me feel stupid when I called to find out how to operate one of the kitchen appliances!). Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone else. · By nmh1974 from Minneapolis, Minnesota on 10/6/2011 for a stay in 9/1/2011 Response: Thanks for your review Lisa. Owner Response: Thanks for staying with us, Dan! You hit the nail on the head with our location, that is why Jenna and I live in this building, too.
